Jean MacDonald Cup
Alan Farquhar was nominated by the steering group for the award as our longest serving volunteer. Alan has been volunteering with Caithness Rural Transport since the project started in 1999. He not only drives the clients to and from various pick up points but also keeps them smiling with his cheery ways and stories. Without our band of wonderful volunteers we wouldnt be able to provide the extremely needed lifeline to the community. I am pleased to say Alan was a very close runner up.

Caithness Rural Transport had a night out recently in the Norseman Hotel. The night was to thank all those who contribute their valuable time to provide the much appreciated service in Caithness. Not all drivers were able to attend but all who attended had a great night.
Caithness Rural Transport are currently looking for new drivers and would be delighted to hear from anyone with a few hours to spare – contact the office on 01955 605588.
We have a selection of vehicles available to use within the community.
Groups can hire the larger minibuses which are wheelchair adapted and can carry up to 13 passengers.
Individual members can use our smaller community vehicles which are also wheelchair adapted. These vehicles are based in Dunbeath, Wick and Thurso and cover the whole of Caithness.
