WHS pupils volunteer at Newtonhill Community Forest

Over the last year Wick High School pupils have been helping Friends of Newtonhill develop and maintain the facility.  Their environmental project included creating raised beds, planting and general maintenance.  This popular community facility is used by the public and groups can hire the croft for events.  Volunteer, Willie Bruce  praised the young people for all their support over the year and was delighted with their efforts and committment.

The pupils worked with support staff from WHS and Marina Swanson, Highland Council Ranger and both were delighted when they received Saltire Awards for all of their volunteering endeavours.
