Volunteer Achievement at Thurso Library

As part of Thurso Library’s Summer Reading program, both Amy Cameron and Megan Lloyd worked as volunteers and received Saltire certificates in recognition of their good work.  The Saltire Awards are a Scottish Government initiative to encourage young people from the age of 12-25 to volunteer in the community.   The placement was arranged by Susan Taylor, Network Librarian and Robbie Macdonald, Library Supervisor, who were delighted to offer volunteers the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a work environment. Pictured here with Robbie are Amy Cameron [ centre left] and Megan Lloyd [centre right] during a recent presentation in the Library with Catherine Patterson, from Caithness Voluntary Group.
