Recognition for volunteers in Caithness

At an event held in Thurso Library recently, Landward Councillor and Civic Leader, Gillian Coghill presented 31 volunteer certificates to local volunteers.  She praised the volunteers for the wonderful contribution they offer by supporting not only their organisation but also to the wider economy of Caithness by complementing existing services.  Volunteering also assists with their personal development and feelings of wellbeing and achievement.  The volunteers received Young Highlander awards, Saltire Awards and Highland Volunteer Awards which encompasses an age range from 11 years old upwards, thus enabeling all volunteers to feel included and valued.
