Creative Identities Dance Fund
Deadline - Monday 31 October 2011
The Dance Fund is a strand of Creative Scotland’s Creative Identities programme which is being delivered in partnership with YouthLink Scotland. It is part of the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities programme which reinvests the proceeds of crime back into communities to benefit Scotland’s young people.
The Dance Fund aims to deliver the following outcomes:
• Increase the numbers of young people participating in high quality dance, increase the access to dance programmes for young people who would not normally have access, or who are considered to be vulnerable or at risk of offending;
• Increase the number of opportunities for young people who are from areas which demonstrate need (e.g. geographic isolation, lack of cultural opportunities, and/or areas within the top 15% on the SIMD index);
• Support and develop young people’s confidence, self esteem, problem solving skills, group work, and capacity to move onto other learning opportunities through engagement in high quality creative activities;
• Assist young people to achieve recognition of their learning;
• Promote a positive image of young people.
There is £100,000 in funding available with individual awards ranging up to £5,000. Awards from the fund will be made to organisations from the youth work sector and those working with young people for the delivery of dance based projects for young people.
The deadline for the receipt of completed applications is Monday 31 October 2011. All projects must be completed by 31 May 2012.
