People’s Postcode Trust

Established in April 2009, the People’s Postcode Trust is the charitable grant-giving organisation of the People’s Postcode Lottery. The Trust aims to distribute funds to community groups, voluntary organisations and registered charities across Great Britain for specific 3 month projects that promote positive change to local communities and local people.


The Trust awards funds to projects with one or more of the following aims:
•To prevent poverty, sickness and distress for the benefit of the public
•To promote, maintain, improve and advance health
•To advance citizenship or community development
•To advance public participation in sport
•To promote, improve and advance human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation
•To promote and advance environmental protection or improvement

Organisations may apply for funding from £500 up to £10,000. Registered charities are eligible for up to £10,000, while those groups who do not have a registered charity number are eligible to apply for up to £2,000.

People’s Postcode Trust is solely funded by People’s Postcode Lottery. £2 from every monthly ticket goes to charity, and to date over £10 million has been raised for good causes in Great Britain.  People’s Postcode Trust has received over £1.7 million to date from People’s Postcode Lottery, which has been distributed to 306 organisations across the country. Of these, 248 projects in Scotland have received £1.5 million through the Trust.
