The aim is to fund projects that reach people who are less likely to take part in sport or physical activities.

Getting more women and girls to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity.
Getting more disabled people to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity.
Getting more older people (over 50 years old) to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity.
Getting more younger people (under 25 years old) and older people to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity together.
Getting more people from black and minority ethnic communities to take part or volunteer in sport or physical activity.
Grants are offered to voluntary and community sector organisations, community councils and schools.
Examples of funding
American football, Angling, Badminton, Basketball, Cycling, Dance and fitness, Rugby Union, Sailing, Walking/Rambling, Watersking
Grants are available from £300 to £2000 and can partly fund your project if total project costs exceed £2,000. However, total project costs must not exceed £4,000. If you are planning to contribute some funding from other sources you must have already raised this when you apply. You must be able to complete the project and spend the entire grant within a maximum of twelve months of receiving the grant payment.
Here are some examples of what a grant may be
spent on:

â—â— taster sessions and open days
â—â— equipment purchase
â—â— promotion and advertising
â—â— school-club links and outreach work
â—â— sports kit
â—â— transport costs
â—â— venue hire
â—â— volunteer expenses.
But costs not covered
â—â— ongoing salaries of existing staff or coaches
â—â— regular running costs to continue current activity
â—â— items for the sole use of an individual
â—â— project management or consultancy fees
â—â— refurbishment
â—â— overseas travel
â—â— goods or services purchased before you have
received the grant (including deposits)
â—â— gym memberships
â—â— projects taking place outside Scotland
â—â— loan payments
â—â— repayment of debt.
Applications are welcome from schools. However, support cannot be offered for activities or services that the school has a statutory responsibility to provide. This
means that they will not fund activities that are in the school curriculum or take place mainly during the school day.
