CO-OPERATIVE MEMBERSHIP FUND
Scheme – community groups and self-help groups, branches of national charities can apply for projects that
address a community issue, provide long-term benefit, support cooperative values, and which are ideally innovative
in their approach. You don’t have to be charity to apply, but the activity must be charitable. Schools cannot apply
directly, though PTAs and similar bodies can. Grants can cover specific project costs or some running costs.
Amount – donations from Co-operative members to this fund yielded £1.2 million last year. Decisions about grants
are made by local committees. There is a fixed grants budget for each area. The Fund offers grants of between
£100 and £2,000
