Community Capacity and Resilience Fund

The Community Capacity and Resilience fund will be distributing funds of up to £330,000 to third sector organisations from across Scotland. To date 34 organisations have been supported with awards ranging from £1,000 to £5,000.A reference document containing feedback from organisations that received funding in round one is available to download from the SCVO website. This may be useful when completing applications for round two. The application process consists of one online form that must be fully complete before your application will be assessed. Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to the following organisations:

  • Charities
  • Voluntary organisations
  • Social enterprises
  • Community organisations
  • Volunteering bodies
  • Co-operatives
  • Housing associations

Below are some ideas for projects that would increase an organisation’s capacity to help people mitigate the impact of welfare reform and poverty. To help with your application, you can download a document with details on the projects funded in the first round.

  • Train staff in benefits advice
  • Bring in-house an external benefits advisor
  • Add some staffing hours to a service you currently provide
  • Pilot an idea you think might benefit your community
  • Build local partnerships to ensure clients are more effectively supported
  • Promote your service within the community
  • Develop materials which aid work in relation to welfare reform and/or tackling poverty
  • Develop a volunteer recruitment programme
  • Develop innovative support for local people, e.g. cheaper food, community food sources, budgeting workshops, peer support groups
