CAITHNESS TALKING NEWSPAPERS
Caithness Talking Newspapers (CTN) is a voluntary group which produces a weekly cassette tape recording of the local papers, the Caithness Courier and the John O’Groat Journal, which is delivered to over fifty blind or partially sighted listeners each Saturday. It is a totally free service provided by a team of twenty or so volunteers, fifteen of whom record the news onto a master tape and five who duplicate the master recording onto copy tapes.
It is a service which is greatly appreciated by our clients because it keeps them informed about what is happening locally, and listening to our tape is very often one of the highlights of their week, especially if they are elderly and house-bound.
If you or you know someone who can benefit from this service please do get in touch for more information. First point of contact is Deirdre Aitken at Hearing and Sight Care, 01955 606170.
